 I caught up with one of Sydney's most promising DJ and promoter!

Why did you start DJ'ing?
I've been raving since early 2002, and I had always admired the DJ's. I had a great respect for them, and I urged to learn what they knew! So I started mixing at mates places, and eventually got it right. Ever since then, I haven't looked back. I absolutely love it. There's no higher one can get than playing infront of a crowd.
What style do you play?
I play mostly Happy Hardcore, real bouncy shit. I also play gabber, and oddly enough, electro.
First gig, how was it (describe in detail)?
I played on the Hardcore Overload radio station for my first ever gig. That was lots of fun, but my first gig in front of a crowd was Dosage. Fuck those club nights rocked! Anyway, most of the people there were my friends so it was ok. But I was so nervous, but I remember getting an SMS from Vanth and she was down on the street, and it said "I can hear you from outside! You fucking rock!". So after that it was all fun and games :D
What is your favourite track to work up the crowd?
It depends on the crowd really. 'This Life' by Heaven 7 the Breeze and Styles remix always kills it. But as cliché and cheesy as it is, Save Me always gets people screaming.
Who is your favourite producer/DJ and why?
Probably Joey Riot, DJ Kurt, or DJ Seduction. They create the banging bouncy melodic shit which I love :D
Highlight of your DJ'ing career?
Probably my first set at a rave. Playing at A New Beginning, which was Cranky Entertainments first rave. First gig, First Rave... It was dope.
Hardest thing to over come when you were starting off?
Equipment... I had a really shoddy Technics Mixer that was leaking all over the place so trying to mix when the sound is all jumbled is kinda hard. lol
Who is your inspiration?
I think every Happy Hard DJ has aspired to be Weaver and Suae at one point in their career. But what pushed me to DJ more seriously was definitely my friends.
What do you love about performing?
There's no better, more exhilerating feeling than getting up infront of a crowd and watching everyone get their groove on.
What are your goals as an artist?
I'm just learning the ropes for producing at the moment. The program's are so damn hard. But ideally I'd love to have a release out on Executive in a year or so.
Upcoming events?
Dream Universe on the 14th of July, and we, Cranky Entertainment, has NEVERLAND 2 on the 15th of December 2007. It's going to be even better than the famous first one :D
Advice to all people aspiring to be a DJ?
Keep at it. It's infuriating at the beginning, but you'll get there. And stick to your own style. Don't let trends sway you from your passion. Peace!
